FAQ Frequently Asked Questions:

What do I need to do to get ready for my carpet cleaning?

If we are not moving your furniture:  The only thing that we recommend that you do prior to our arrival is to remove knickknacks, pictures and other brakeables from the edges of coffee table or end table.

If we are moving your furniture:  Remove all items off the tops of the furniture so that we can move the furniture and clean.  If you have a china cabinet or curio cabinet, remove all the china or knickknacks prior to our arrival if you want to have it moved.

Other than that, we will take care of everything for you.  Some people ask if they should vacuum their carpet.  Not to worry – vacuuming and cleaning your baseboards is just part of our cleaning process so just sit back and let us take care of everything for you.

How long does the cleaning take?

The time it takes to clean depend on the amount of carpet to clean and whether we are moving and blocking your furniture.  Our scheduling agent should be able to give you a good idea of how long our crews will take when they are at your home.

When do I remove the Styrofoam blocks you put under my furniture?

Wait to remove all Styrofoam blocks for 48 hours after the cleaning process because the area under the legs of furniture will take longer to dry than the carpet that is exposed to the open air.

About a week after you left, a stain came back.  What can I do about this?

This is a somwhat common condition called wicking.  It can occur when there is a large amount of dirt or spillage in the carpet under the padding.  The initial cleaning got up the stain but their was more debris in the padding – this dirt came to the surface as you walked on the carpet.  It “wicked” up into the carpeting.

Call us immediately when this occurs, any problem such as this will occur within the first thirty days after cleaning.  (It should show up in the first week, but we want to give you ample time to call.)  As long as you let us know about the problem during that time, we will come back at no charge and take care of the issue.
