The 18-hole “Cumberland Cove” course at the Cumberland Cove Golf Club facility in Monterey, Tennessee features a challenging layout with a par of 72. The course offers 6,675 yards of golf from the blue tees. It also has white, gold, and red tees that make it playable for all skill levels.

The town’s rich history can be explored at the Monterey Depot Museum and at the Imperial Hotel, which was built by Union Gen. John Thomas Wilder and his wife Dora Lee in 1909. The hotel welcomed weary railroad workers and stagecoaches with a warm welcome and delicious meals. The Wilders even grew vegetables in the garden to serve their guests.

It is a great course for high handicappers. The fee was $25 for 18 holes and a cart in April. However, the greens were bumpy due to being recently aerated. The fairways were mediocre, with some bare spots. It is a great place for beginners and high handicappers looking to have a fun day of golfing.
